Is religion vital for moral development?

I'm gonna read this report Houston and I'm gonna pass comments on it according to a study that's been was published back in 2015 has just come to light a study found that children raised without religion tend to be kinder than children brought up in very religious households oops and this study was a collaborative effort between numerous academics some seven different universities that are spread out all over the world and it seemed study children from a variety of different backgrounds including Christian Muslim and non-religious and found that among other things children from religious households were more judgmental and the study itself was titled the negative association between religiousness and children's altruism across the world and their findings contradict the common sense and popular assumption our children from religious households are more altruistic in kind towards others more generally they call into question whether religion is vital for modern developments supporting the idea of secularization of model discourse will not reduce human kindness in fact as the survey found it will do just the opposite now the researchers involved nearly 1,200 children between the ages of 5 and 12 and the children were from a variety of different cultures including children from the US Canada China Jordan Turkey and also South Africa of those who participated in the experiments only 24% my Christian 43% Muslim and 27.6 non-religious children who Jewish Buddhist Hindu agnostic or other less ubique you too but ubiquitous religions were not statistically significant enough to have their results included in the study now under studies children put in situations where they would have an opportunity to share with others and they were also shown video faucets of children fighting and pushing each other while researchers Scout gauged rather Knockouts their reactions and the results of the study robustly demonstrate that children from households identified as either of the two major world religions Christianity and Islam were less altruistic than children from non-religious households now the researchers also noted that all the children who have been more indoctrinated into a particular religion exhibited the greatest negative relations and the study also found that religious children are more likely to be judgmental and punitive towards other children and religiousness was inversely predictive of children's altruism and positively correlated with their punitive tendencies now together these results reveal the similarity across countries and how religion negatively influences children's altruism challenging the view that religiosity facilitates pro-social behavior how the study went on to say while it is generally accepted that religion contours people's moral judgments and pro-social behavior the relation between religion and morality is a contentious one one aspect that was not covered in the study is that religious parents are often punitive which means inflicting or intended as punishment with their children and things like spanking were considered socially acceptable there is a very good chance that this is this is the actual reason why children of religious parents a hard time getting along with illness the numerous studies have now shown the harmful its effects of spankin and similar parenting strategies now the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child issued a directive in 2006 : physical punishments legalized violence against children and that it should be eliminated in all set settings through legislative administrative social and educational measures and a treaty that established the committee has been supported by a hundred and ninety two countries in all only the United States and Somalia are failing to ratify our spanking has been banned in 53 countries and states globally but it's also important to point out that our mountains of scientific evidence proven that spanking is bad for the mental health and development of children will absolutely no studies showing that it does any good so that ends the myth that religion makes a child more whole model or aware of their own responsibilities does it no and yet why did we impose it on this is the problem you know people identify themselves as being Catholic or plasmons or Muslim or whatever but as anybody not considered that wasn't a child's choice was he no child comes out born at religious imagine that's got some people's heads pondering you

  1. I'm thankful for my religious upbringing, but… I've matured and now I have RELATIONSHIP with Creator, not the God of the Old Testament as I know who and what that was! EL-OHIM!!!! El, the "gods" of ELectricity…you know the ELectric ball in the sky that makes this whole Universe spin around it and be Hypno-MAGNITIZED to it!!! get it?!

  2. The historical Jesus knew who he was, but he also knew that he was one of three personalities composing one entity. To a large extent he shared the memory of the other two.

The third personality has not in your terms yet appeared, although his existence has been prophesied as the "Second Coming" (Math 24) Now these prophecies were given at the current culture at that time, and therefore, while the stage has been set, the distortions are deplorable, for this Christ will not come at the end of your world as the prophecies have been maintaining. He will not come to reward the righteous and send the evildoers to eternal doom. He will, however, begin a new religious drama. A certain historically continuity will be maintained. As happened once before.

However, he will not be generally known for who he is. There will be no glorious proclamation to which the whole world will bow. He will return to straighten out Christianity, which will be in a shambles at the time of his arrival, and to set up a new system of thought when the world is sorely in need of one. By that time, all religions will be in severe crisis.

He will undermine religious organizations  not unite them. His message will be that of the individual in relation to the All That Is. He will clearly state methods by which each individual can attain a state of intimate contact with his own entity; the entity being to some extent man's mediator with All That Is. . . .

By 2075 all of this will be already accomplished.

The third personality of Christ will indeed be known as a great psychic, for it is he who will teach humanity to use those inner senses that alone make true spirituality possible. Slayers and victims will change roles as reincarnational memories rise to the surface of consciousness. Through the development of these abilities, the sacredness of all life will be intimately recognized and appreciated. The expectations were set long ago in your terms, and will be fed by new prophets until the third personality of Christ does indeed emerge.

He will lead man behind the symbolism upon which religion has relied for so many centuries. He will emphasize individual spiritual experience, the expansiveness of the soul, and teach man to recognize the multitudinous aspects of his own reality.

I would like to make certain points clear. The "new religion" following the Second Coming will not be Christian in your terms, although the third personality of Christ will initiate it.

This personality will refer to the historical Christ, will recognize his relationship with that personality; but within him the three personality groupings will form a new psychic entity, a different psychological gestalt. As this metamorphosis takes place, it will initiate a metamorphosis on a human level also (emphatically), as man's inner abilities are accepted and developed.

The results will be a different kind of existence. Many of your problems now result from spiritual ignorance.

No man will look down upon an individual from another race when he himself recognizes that his own existence includes such membership also.

No sex will be considered better than the other, or any role in society, when each individual is aware of his own or her own experience at many levels of society and in many roles.

An open-ended consciousness will feel its connections with all other living beings. The continuity of consciousness will become apparent. As a result of all this the social and governmental structures will change, for they are based upon your own current beliefs.

Human personality will reap benefits that now would seem unbelievable. An open-ended consciousness will imply far greater freedom.

From birth, children will be taught that basic identity is not dependent upon the body, and that time as you know it is an illusion. The child will be aware of many of its past existences, and will be able to identify with the old man or woman that in your terms it will become.

Many of the lessons "that come with age" will then be available to the young, but the old will not loose the spiritual elasticity of their youth. This itself is important. But for some time, future incarnations will still be hidden for practical reasons.

As these changes come about, new areas will be activated in the brain to physically take care of them. Physically then, brain mappings will be possible in which past life memories are evoked. All of these alterations are spiritual changes in which the meaning of religion will escape organizational bounds, becoming a living part of individual existence, and where psychic frameworks rather than physical ones form the foundations for civilization.

Man's experience will be so extended that to you the species will seem to have changed to another. This does not mean there will not be problems. It does mean that man will have far greater resources at his command. It also presupposes a richer and far more diverse social framework. Men and women will find themselves relating to their fellow beings, not only as the people that they are, but as the people that they were.

Family relationships will show perhaps the greatest changes. There will be room for emotional interactions within the family that are now impossible. The conscious mind will be more aware of unconscious material.

    It

is important to realize that spiritual ignorance is at the basis of so many of your problems, and that indeed your only limitations are spiritual ones.

The metamorphosis mentioned earlier on the part of the third personality, will have such strength and power that it will call out from mankind these same qualities from within itself. The qualities have always been present. They will finally break through the veils of the physical perception, extending that perception in new ways.

Now, mankind lacks such a focus. The third personality will represent that focus. There will be, incidentally, no crucifixion in that drama. That personality will indeed be multidimensional, aware of all its incarnations. It will not be orientated in terms of one sex, one colour, or one race.

For the first time, therefore, it will break through the earthly concepts of personality, liberating personality. It will have the ability to show these diverse effects as it chooses. There will be many who will be afraid to accept the nature of their own reality, or to be shown the dimensions of their true identity.

For several reasons I do not want to give you any more detailed information as to the name that will be used, or the land of birth. Too many might be tempted to jump into that image prematurely.

Events are not predestined. The framework for this emergence has already been set, however, within your own system of probabilities. The emergence of this third personality will directly affect the  original historical drama of Christ. As it is known that there is . .  and must be . .  interactions between them.

  3. So is what you're really saying is, when children are raised with a value system, they do not accept or promote SIN!? The Christian community (Genuine Spirit filled Christians) is one of the most, if not the most, loving, forgiving, generous & virtuous people you'll ever meet! It's the agnostic/atheist people who always like to brag about how they turned away some homeless DRUNK or ADDICT asking for a few dollars. I know this, because I've seen it time & time again!!!

NOTE: Kids who aren't disciplined as children are typically the people who grow up to be self serving, spoiled monsters!!!

  4. Not surprising at this point. Religion has been corrupt for a long time now (inquisition). It became an evil Brain-washing program. Great commentary.

  5. There was a time I would reject
Those who were not of my faith
But now, my heart has grown
Capable of taking on all forms
    It's a pasture for Gazelles
    An Abbey for Monks
    A table for Torah
    A temple for the Idols
    Kaaba for the pilgrims
    My Religion is love
    Whichever route
    The love's caravan shall take
    That shall be
    The path of my faith

    IBN ARABI

    After this recital;
    When we've defeated the enemy
    Buried our Heroes
    Healed our wounds
Love will lead us to new Adventures
    Beyond which awaits Peace
    When we're ready..

  6. Religión has made good people bad! A huge thank you for this content! As always so grateful to you and yours!

  7. It starts with parents and grandparents . Religions as the boxed and pedaled in denominations and prosperity churches , are the judgmental and hypocritical ones.
And it goes to the very core , of The Good Seed and the bad seed. That simple .

  8. I didn’t trust anyone enough to teach my kids this important subject. If they asked questions I answered as to my beliefs but told them there were many different beliefs in the world. And that there are many different places to seek these truths. I did ask them to always begin seeking their truths from within. I’m more of a spiritual nature and I do believe organized religion is sometimes too black and white with its answers to children. The lines between respect and judgement for example I rarely agree with the church’s expectations. Kindness, forgiveness, charity, good and evil; and that there’s a bigger picture all around us, can be taught at

  9. I do believe it is your head that needs more "ponderin". You preach about not accepting indoctrination, now you smugly insinuate that ONE "study" proves your point? How do you explain the far left Antifa fans? Do they lustrate altruism or kindness? Certainly not moral character or open minded tolerance . Not impressed Thomas. You can't denounce establishment mind control and then use one educational system "study" to justify throwing out parental attempts to instill faith in their children. In stead of throwing it all out, why don't we teach them principles of faith in a higher power, and why, but reinforce critical thinking along with it the same time. You see what total lack of morality does to society. Not impressed Thomas. Try again.

  10. As soon as you mentioned the results of this study a lightbulb went off in my head. I always think about the "bigger picture" in that there's always someone "bigger" in control of the lower situation. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we all chose to be here as part of an experiment towards creating the "perfect" human being and we are now at the end of a global lab test as to whether or not religion will help us achieve that perfection.

  11. Thank you Thomas! I gave my kids the option to attend church if they wanted to, even though l havebnot been a fan of organized religion for MANY years. When they were old enough to ask questions about such things l answered them to the best of my ability. What p couldn't answer we lo9ked for at the library. My daughter had a couple of friends whose families were active at two different churches and she was 9ften asked to functions which l told her was up to her. She cane home from a weekend up in the mountains once and stated she was never stepping foot in that church again because she had been made a display of because she had worn sweat pants to bed the first night and ONLY MALES WERE ALLOWED TO WEAR PANTS!! It was November in the Rockies! She saw the absurdity of the patriarchal system firsthand for herself, l hadn't told her what l knew beforehand. I totally agree with these findings! Some of the cruelest kids growing up were the ones that were "shining stars" in their Sunday schools….no thanks! B9th of mine are grown, respectful, compassionate, loving young people that work hard and dont look down on people!!Peace to All of Us!!

  12. No, it is not.
"Religion" is in no way responsible for ethics, morals or scruples. It subverts the human condition while attempting to take credit for its advancement.

  13. I think ceremonies such as christenings weddings and funerals are good ways of bringing extended families and bonding them together despite maybe some hidden meanings in the religious texts of the ceremonies if there are any?

  14. Before I believe that, I want to see who or what sponsored that study . There is an agenda out there by the elites to raise your kid their way and you the parent have little input on what goes into your kids heads . They have the money to put out bogus reports or studies to fit their narratives or agendas for the future . Look I know you don't like the pope and maybe organized religion that's OK for you and others , but I'm more concerned about "them" using these studies for taking parent's right to raise their children as they see fit in lets say 2030 or 2045 . You've got to look at their agendas to find out when if any they will implement this .

  15. Be kind dont send stuff with cohercive collective and cowardice non direct OPINIONS with titles infering satan in the title as cohersive mind walling experintal behavioral "encouraging" toward others directly on a ssl network

  16. I believe taught whole and HONEST morals along with RESPECT will get you further. Religion is to easily warped to suit ones lifestyle and preference.
