  1. When you practice meditation you are doing a form of soft discipline. People think only hard discipline works to change you. Like being in the military, but soft discipline works just as well. If you out work at gym you can get physically strong. Practice meditation and you can get mentally strong.

  2. Oh, this is a fantastic idea. As a med student, I try and meditate and relax when I can to try and keep my stress levels low…but seeing a educational channel also teaching/guiding meditation…that’s fantastic. It’s not the typical place, but the unexpected video was like finding a $10 in an old pair of jeans.

  3. Basically sal doing ASMR lmao!
Bit also this is a new type of video but good because you knwo5if your studying and learning your going to need a break

  4. That’s it!! Definitely Positively. You are a most awesome person. Best wishes. Also, thanks for taking the time to teach us.

  5. I hope they make a series of this for: adults , college kids, high school students, middle school students, elementary school students. It would be so awesome!

  6. Yes introducing meditation toward students! The more people do it, the better. Going inwards is the source of our inspirations. We are the unchaining consciousness, the observer awareness, light. Therefore we are not our thoughts, bodies, or even minds, we are awareness, pure awareness 🙂

  7. you don't even how much it lifted my mood, i basically was laying in my bed miserable , saw the video clicked on it without any expectations, followed through and i honestly feel much better

  8. I really loved this. Would love more guided meditation from you. Thank you so much! I like your signature above with "inwards!"

  9. I’ve been wanting to try meditation for a while now, and I think this will really help. I would definitely love a series like this. Thank you, Mr. Khan for all that you do. Khan Academy has played a pivotal role in my education, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without it.

  10. This was awesome, thanks for letting me know so much about me. I realised so many things now. The best YouTube video ever the best organisation ever. Thank you khan academy for making my lessons so much easier for me. You are my mentor. Thanks a lot..

  11. I am so glad Sal has done this video, He is able touch millions of student who are the future of this world, but are not able to control their mind and are being frustrated because its always reacting.
Our mind is a very sensitive and meditation is a way to make it pure(free of defilements). Care must be taken while trying to meditate specially because of today's rapid commercialization of the spiritual field. Its very hard to find pure technique that works and immediately brings results. Actually there is proper way to meditate(https://www.dhamma.org/en-US/index).

Vipassana changed my life, and this is not about if you are Hindu Buddist Christian Muslim, its all nonsense, human being is human being and human mind is human mind regardless of color or creed. This technique is scientific and logical. Its NOT about chanting some gods name, not visualizing any fictional images or trying to get stoned in the visions. Its about remaining alert every moment, with the help of your own breadth, natural normal breadth. No counting no visions no chants no mantras nothing just breadth coming in breadth going out. Not forcing the breadth. I am not equipped to give you instructions on how to do it,only the teachers are able and allowed to give instructions(that's why this technique is still in its pristine purity till now).

For full vipassana course you must attend a 10 day course, but you can practice Anapana, which is 1st phase of Vipassana, Anapana is a technique to control your mind.
Don't just trust my words, do your own research(https://www.dhamma.org/en-US/index) see for yourself what it is. See the introduction video from the teacher itself.

And Sal please give it a try. There are 4 centers in Cali itself.
I am not a very good explainer but if you attend this course yourself you definitely can reach millions of youth. You saved my life through though physics videos. You might save humanity from current technological smog. It so much more than that but lets keep it till this.

And yes its free of cost, you dont have to pay for it, you dont have to pay to learn real dhamma. Not even for lodging fooding anything, its all taken care of.

SAL you gotta do this, for the whole generation. I am not a mercenary or a broker.

I was a distracted, depressed, frustrated engineering student who didn't have the courage to get out of bed and face the reality. I am not saying that i have written 100 research papers and have 50 pattents in my name and about to build a billion dollar company or turned into a scientist after taking one vipassana course. All i am saying is my desperation has gone, my mental state is balanced, its getting clearer everyday(only if i practice everyday). Just attending a course means nothing if you don't practice regularly. (Example: Just knowing how to brush your teeth wont make it clean and healthy, brushing it twice a day make it clean and healthy.) Its same with meditation.

Alright i can go on and on. Its worth trying.
If you cant give 10 days just do anapana for 10 mins.
    I have left links above.
Watch the introduction first and then the instructions.

  12. This was super great! I think that meditation is important for coping with a lot of stressful things, and you definitely helped with that. Your mind and how it’s connected to the universe and philosophy really helps me a lot:)

  13. Meditation teacher here! Thank you so much for spreading this mr Khan! This is very similar to how I teach the basics of meditation and I guarantee that it works, if doing it properly. It will probably lead to great changes in your lives people! Feel free to ask me any questions as well,
