πŸ•‰πŸ˜€ How Rupert Spira Moved Towards Enlightenment – A Spiritual Awakening Process

Just very briefly talk about how that was for you. You were asking yourself ‘who am I.’ Where did that take you in terms of investigation? To begin with I had a presumption
that what I am is this individual entity and that if this individual entity practices for long enough, studies hard enough, this individual entity will gradually dissolve itself and of course that’s not the case! The individual entity cannot dissolve itself! So I reached the stage of complete frustration. The separate entity
trying to get rid of the separate entity through all this means and it didn’t work. So a point came when I really stopped trying to get rid of this separate entity, stopped seeing it as the problem and just turned around and asked myself
‘What is this entity that is unhappy, that is searching, that is trying to quiet the mind, that thinks the mind is a problem. I started to look for it. And that was a very decisive turning point when I started to look for the entity which was initiating
all these so-called spiritual activities. And this in a way we could call it ‘the journey home.’ It’s the moment the prodigal son turns around, he gets to the end of the possibilities of the body,
the mind, and the world and he turns around, faces himself. So it was a moment when I turned around and said ‘OK, no more practices for a while.
I am going to stop these practices.
They are like bandages(?), they are not going to the heart of the problem. What is this one, who is this one that is unhappy? And as I began to look for this one I never found it. So you had the feeling of being unhappy and you looked inside and what you’re saying is that you couldn’t find the person or the part of you that was unhappy. Is that right? My life and in this case my spiritual life was motivated by a desire … the entity that I believed myself to be ‘I’ this inside self want to find happiness or enlightenment. ‘I’ want to find, ‘I’ want to be enlightened,
‘I’ want to be happy. And this had I had explored it normally in the world as one does, then I had begun to explore it spiritually,
which is a kind of refinement, we could say of the worldly search, but nevertheless it’s still a search,
more are in the realm of the mind. In my case stilling the mind,
states of mind. So I had tried all these things, had got some temporary relief, but no real satisfaction. So at some stage I turned around
‘ Who is this one? Who is this ‘I’, this ‘Rupert,’ that wants to be happy or enlightened or peaceful or whatever?’ ‘OK, if you are ruling my life, show up!’ ‘What are you? Where are you?’
I want to know you. I want to get acquainted with you.’ And then I started looking. But we never find that one! How did you turn it around? What was your process of turning it around? It became clear to me that up until then I had presumed that it is ‘I-this-body-mind,’ ‘I’ this entity that knows the world. but it became clear quite quickly to me that
‘No, it’s not ‘I-this-body-mind’ that knows the world, it’s ‘I’ this whatever exactly I am that knows the body-mind and world! In other words, the mind and the body are known. I know my thoughts, I know the body. The body doesn’t know, I mean your cheek is not listening to these words, an earlobe is not listening to these words,
a thought cannot hear! A thought cannot see! It became clear in my experience ‘No, it’s not a body-mind that knows or experiences, the body-mind is experienced, it is known. But I know that it’s known by ‘me.’ What is this ‘me’ that I know I am, that is present, that is intimately myself and that that knows thoughts but is not made out of a thought, that knows sensations,
but is not made out of a sensation? And of course wherever you look,
wherever you try to turn towards it it’s always the wrong direction. If I were to ask you now to stand up
and take a step towards yourself, where would you go? Every step that you take would be the wrong direction and yet you could never get away from yourself! It was like that. I tried to look for myself ‘No, I can’t find myself in thoughts,
I can’t find myself in sensations, images, feelings, thoughts. So you looked for yourself in thoughts, you looked for yourself in sensations, you looked for yourself in feelings. I said to myself
‘Ok turn your attention now toward your thoughts’ and I would make these little exercises up with myself ‘Give your attention to your thoughts’
– whatever it was I was thinking about – simple, easy ‘what should we have for dinner tonight?’ You give your attention to that thought.
Very easy. Then I would take myself Now give your attention to your body the tingling sensation at the source of my feet. Easy, I know exactly where to place my attention. And then I would ask myself
‘OK, now turn your attention towards whatever it is that is aware of this thought or this sensation. Because whatever it is that is aware of thought and sensation is what I call myself. It is ‘I’ that knows the thought, that knows the sensation. And so I would say ‘OK, give that one your attention, turn towards that one.’ And to begin with
– because we are accustomed to focusing on objects. On thoughts, on sensations, on perceptions – I would begin to look for myself for yet another object,
a kind of super-object, a subtle object and whatever I landed my attention on was again some subtle maybe a very subtle feeling in the body. Then I would ask myself
‘No, don’t give that feeling your attention, give the one who knows that feeling who is aware of it? Give that one your attention! To begin with I would go out again towards an object and then it would collapse back. The impulse to go out again,
to find myself as some kind of a thing, some kind of an object, the impulse would rise up and the futility of it,
the impossibility of it
would just automatically collapse the effort. It was so ridiculous to look for myself
as some kind of an object, because I already was myself is to close to myself
to be found or known as any kind of an object! So there was a collapse of this looking
for myself as an object and it was replaced by a sense of ‘I am myself already!’ I can never know it as an object,
but that doesn’t mean that I can’t know it intimately in my experience, not in a subject-object relationship,
but it knows itself. It became so clear
that the way to know myself was simply to be myself. That is awareness’ way of knowing itself,
by being itself! And it is always itself! It became so obvious that I had mistaken myself for thought or a sensation
or a cluster of sensations or an image. And it became obvious, to begin with in kind of momentary glimpses, but over time these glimpses stabilized. It just became more and more obvious that I that I was already intimately acquainted
with what I was looking for!

  1. "I am already intimately acquainted with what I am looking for…"
I know it's objectification, but I love you Rupert Spira πŸ€—πŸ˜πŸ™

  2. Here’s the truth. No one is enlightened in this time period. We only think that we are enlightened because we enjoy a clearer thought system. Underneath the identity is a human soul of Light, that soul is enlightened. Our identities are time fragments of the soul. When the β€œI” is returned to the soul, then the β€œI” becomes fully enlightened. A full enlightenment to a human does not take place on Earth yet. There are no degrees of enlightenment, it is all or nothing. The nothing we experience is simply clearer thought and mistakenly we call it enlightenment.

Example: Not even Jesus could manifest Light on Earth. Jesus was an ordinary man who talked about Light and taught the principles of Light. Jesus did not walk on water and did not heal the blind. The church of the time added those aspects to create a singular God. That does not mean magical healings do not take place. All healings come from the inner Light soul and is unattached to the human hand. Dr. Eben Alexander is a modern-day example of a pure Light healing. I express this message to prove that an actual enlightenment has never taken place in the human mind – ever. Though Dr. Eben Alexander died and underwent a Light healing. He would be the first to admit that when he returned to Earth, he can only think clearer while on Earth, and in no manner, resembles the enlightenment he experienced on the other side. Eben was returned to time as himself, and as a clearer version of himself. To use the term enlightenment to describe his new outlook is simply not accurate. Our ego consciousness is a sturdy link of time, and no single person can become fully enlightened while inside it, for the ego structure connects all our minds.

The age of enlightenment will materialize across the board to every human, and this will not occur through Eastern religion, standard religion, or advanced thought as Rupert is experiencing. Enlightenment will be produced by and through technology that separates and liberates the massive collection of human thought from survival thought. It is a place where love is not a mere thought we hold in our heads, but an extension of action that physically transfers love into another human through the social structures we’ve created which contain no ego consciousness. They are new systems of life and living that our souls will teach us to build. It’s called The Compassionate World, where the systems we live and enjoy reflect compassion and enlightenment.

All forms of Eastern religion do not know how to build those systems because they are still concentrated on improving the β€œI”. While the human soul beneath is telling us to concentrate on the β€œWe.” Our human souls will guide us to the technology based systems that can transform the β€œWe.”

The best thing our spiritual leaders can do, is stop concentrating on their own β€œI” and those of others, and move into a β€œWe” view. Perfecting the β€œI” in this this day and age has become counterproductive, since it is a concentration on self. What was once highly valuable in the past that opened advanced thought, now must mature into a β€œWe” view. The mature view is not the teaching of love or awareness; it is the greater observation that humans have the physical means to construct compassion on Earth for β€œWe.” Humans will eventually put their love into action, and that will be far more impactful than any lesson.

  3. Impressive! Grazie Aurelio. So clearly said how to trace back our true place. Nothing added to it. No eastern custom bullshit…no sahari…no red dots between the eyes…no devotees kissing his feet

  4. MUCH better when someone interviews him. I like Rupert but he talks too much, almost to himself, and his words makes sense to him but not as much the listener. A 2nd person moderating is helpful.

  5. 'If I were to ask you now to stand up and take a step towards yourself, where would you go? Every step that you take would be the wrong direction and yet you could never get away from yourself!' #RupertSpira

  6. It is a joke really, being a Rinzai Zen priest and trying to point the 'Way' knowing all the while that what makes searching for Enlightenment so difficult is the very search itself. The fact is that IT is utterly simple. I was washing 'my' hands when after years of searching saw that there was in fact nobody behind this pure act. I realised that 'I' was not living but that 'I' was being LIVED, KWATZ! Rupert report hits the mark. So well.

  7. what feeble-minded fools are the most that comment here with stupid hearts and all. you are so easy to fool-its scary.

  8. πŸ’‹for me it was finding truths in Socrates that I wanted for religion to accept , so I found that Christ said very similar meanings

  9. I've been both watching Rupert's videos and listening to Alan Watts, and I've stumbled upon (I think) a possible disagreement between their two viewpoints. Rupert would say, "I am not my thoughts, feelings, and sense perceptions", but Alan Watts says just the opposite, that we are our thoughts, feelings and sense perceptions because there is no separate ego to be the thinker, the feeler, or the perceiver of sense perceptions. Watts says that everything is just one unified happening with no ego that is separate from it, so we are our thoughts, feelings and perceptions. Yet Eckhart Tolle states that there is an awareness or prescence behind the thoughts and sensations, and that awareness is what we really are (similar to Rupert's ideas). But Alan Watts says the thought that there is a thinker behind the thoughts is just another thought; the thought that there is a feeler behind the feelings is just another feeling. Watts seems to put down the idea that there is an awareness that knows what is known, or that some kind of infinite consciousness is what we really are. It's a tough one to sort out.

  10. Wherever you look, you look always your experience. You are in your, awareness' experience as your body and mind, the "borders" are your awareness. You don't see an external world as you might imagine it, just your experience masqueraded as the world, the others. Just as simple as this.

  11. It’s obvious, Rupert doesn’t understand the nature of the mind. If you understood Spinoza you wouldn’t be communicating such nonsense. The understanding is a part of the infinite understanding of God’s nature. Understanding expresses just that, that the mind understands. Understanding is clarity of thought, it knows the nature of things. Clarity, truth and understanding are synonymous, and it’s the mind’s activity. Learn more… wayofspinoza.com

  12. He couldn't have gotten to that point before enlightment without meditating a lot. That's the purpose of meditation

  13. Yes I'm the OBSERVER, if I'm sad, WHO knows I'm sad, if I say I'm happy, WHO knows I'm happy, If I say I'm angry, WHO knows I'm angry. It's like in a movie film, the CAMERA looks through the eyes of the actor walking down the street, that's IT the LOOKER is the CONSCIOUS AWARENESS. It's subtle, BUT not as difficult as a lot of GURUS try and make out, as if they have some secret and power..RUPERT SPIRA EXCLUDED from my last statement, he explains it brilliantly.

  14. aurelio thanks a lot….rupert or other masters must be heard always…they are biggest blessing…this video is the ultimate and complete one

  15. Thanks for this. πŸ’— This really sounds hard to believe, but I've just seen that Sri Avinash an Australian Spiritual master is transmitting the enlightened state & he calls it the satori transmission. 🀲 People are experiencing a what enlightenment feels like because of him within minutes. It just seems so rare and incredibly precious that I felt the need to share about it. You're not going to believe but check it out! #satoritransmission πŸ’“πŸ’•

  16. The mirror is already there but it is covered with dust; it becomes visible when the dust is wiped out. Similarly, we are already Brahman (consciousness, awareness) but we do not know this true spiritual identity of ours due to dust (ignorance). When the dust (ignorance) is removed, we remain ourselves like the mirror.

  17. Is it possible that Rupert is stuck in a conceptual reality? In the oneself, does one need to look anywhere other than what is? There is no time involved. I noticed he is actually doing this within time. His I of giving attention is a division of unattended to already. Yet in the state of pure awareness there is no time involved. To be fair to Mr Rupert he is using language to describe I am ness. If the body is not in awareness doesn’t that leave the awareness to do the expression of bigger self and use body as transposition of energy? The deeper I go in the deeper I feel that almost any bodily thing can speak directly without intermediary, be it body or concept which are still matter. Concept is from thought which is matter.

  18. I came up with a very similar excercise for directing attention to consciousness. It is difficult to create the shift but once it happens consciousness will be the first and only "thing" one sees. I noticed that if i closed my eyes and named an object my attention will be drawn to that object. I wanted to understand what consciousness exactly is, and i came up with a colour game for myself to help me see what consciousness is. I closed my eyes and named a colour, opened my eyes and my attention would easily scan through my surrounding finiding objects with the named colour. I'd do it again and again. I thought, if that prinicple works it now has to do the same with consciousness. So i named consciousness and let my attention just glide through the surroundings. But it never stopped.. it never highlighted it for me – this there, that is consciousness. I did that exercise for a few weeks, dilligently.. as i was doing it , and feeling no progress, the shift was being created every time i went to look for consciousness.. it just didnt show. Until one day it dawned on me, and everything there is to understand about consciousness found me. You cant spot consciousness "out there"… the "out there" is it… you are always only aware of consciousness, and the stuff that goes on in it is life… that shift is hard to achieve by listening to teachers. You have to do some work to understand it. Every person comes up with their own practice led by intuition if they trully have a desire to know it. And it will happen

  19. The thought is intrinsically aware of itself. You cannot have a thought that you aren't aware of. Then it would not be a thought. There is no need to posit this extra entity of "awareness."

  20. I love you Rupert Spira ❀❀❀❀ plz god keep show me wonderfull guys like this one and Eckhart tolly , Sadguru ,Mooji i am shur there are many others.

  21. Objects know themselves in relation to consciousness. Consciousness knows itself in relation to objects. You are these words reading themselves.
